The People’s Vending Machine Project (PVMP)
Our People’s Vending Machine Project (PVMP) is available to anyone and everyone for FREE at anytime. The PVMP is here to help reduce barriers and to provide our community with potentially life saving supplies, educational information, and local resources. The vending machine contains several items that can help people in our community who are struggling to receive access to Narcan, fentanyl test strips, at home STI testing, condoms, and much more.

Naloxone

Naloxone is an injection medicine that can be used in an emergency situation when there is a narcotic overdose.

Open the cap of Naloxone vial
Remove the cap of the needle, and insert into the vial
With the vial upside down, pull back the plunger and draw up 1mL(1cc) of Naloxone. The vial may only have one dose of Naloxone or may have multiple doses in the vial.
Using a needle at least 1 inch long, inject into muscle in the upper arm or thigh. It must be injected into the muscle.

Narcan

Narcan is a nasal spray medicine that can be used in an emergency situation when there is a narcotic overdose.

Gently insert the tip of the nozzle into one nostril, until your fingers on either side of the nozzle are against the bottom of the person’s nose.
Press the plunger firmly to give the dose of Narcan.
Remove the Narcan from the nostril after giving the dose
If there is no response within 2 minutes, give another dose

Fentanyl Test Strips

Fentanyl Test Strips are test strips that can detect fentanyl in different kinds of drugs. Using Fentanyl test Strips can help reduce the risk of overdose.

Put a small amount of your drugs aside in a clean, dry container
Add water to the container and mix the water and drug
Place the correct end of the test strip down in the water (as directed) and let it absorb for about 15 seconds
Take the strip out of the water and place the test strip on a flat surface for 2-5 minutes
